Born on the Apache reservation in Arizona where my dad was a missionary, we moved to Kingman, AZ when I was in 1st grade. We spent 7 years there before moving to southern California. I housed with families while attending Arizona Lutheran Academy for high school. Off to college in New Ulm for 5 awesome years of study and graduated in 1999 with my teaching degree with my emphasis in science. I was called immediately back to my alma mater, ALA, and spent 19 years there teaching a wide variety of classes: Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology, Earth and Space, AP Biology, Electronics, AP Computer Science Principles, Physical Science, and Algebra 1. (Not all at the same time.) I also coached football, baseball, and soccer in my years there. I also finished my Master's Degree through Martin Luther College in Educational Technology in 2015.
Here at Shoreland I teach Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Foundations of Science and hold the title of science chair. I help out as an assistant for soccer and track and field.
