Greetings! I have been involved in Christian Education most of my life. Whether as a student or teacher, God has been my constant guide in my personal and professional life.
I was born and raised in Neenah, Wisconsin. The sixth and youngest child of Fred and Kathryn Strutz, I attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran in Neenah and then Fox Valley Lutheran in Appleton. Both of my parents are in heaven. Two sisters live in Appleton, one brother in Racine, one brother in Tucson, Arizona, and one sister in the Washington, D.C. area.
After graduating from FVL, I attended Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Upon graduation, I received a call to teach at St. Paul’s, Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin. For eleven years the Lord used me as a principal, teacher of grades 5-8, and a coach. My wife Joy and I were blessed to have four of our five children during our time in Mt. Calvary. Rachel, Russell, Randy, and Robert were born during our Mt. Calvary years.
The Lord then called me to serve as principal and teacher of grades 7-8 at Zion Lutheran, Columbus. For three years I served Zion as their principal, teacher, and coach.
The Lord then led me to accept a call to Shoreland Lutheran High School. For the past fifteen years the Lord has used my gifts to serve as a teacher, Dean of Students, and coach. Currently, I teach World Geography and American Government. I also serve as the boys varsity basketball coach. During our time here in the Racine and Kenosha area, the Lord blessed us with our youngest child, Ryan.
My wife and I are extremely thankful for the prayers and support of the Shoreland parents and students over the past number of years. We are truly blessed to be able to serve the Lord here.
